Here at AFD, we try and provide as much information as possible to you, so your decision is made easier, we have listed part numbers and brands of components that may be of interest to you when planning your next engine build. There are many other brands and part numbers that also can be used, there are just way too many for us to list here.

For both the 2V and SP4V series cylinder heads, most technical specs will be the same, the obvious will differ (eg. runner volumes/ available valve sizes)

It is vital to have the correct component selection for your application, please contact AFD for assistance should you be not 100% sure, the wrong components for a particular application can damage your engine or not allow the engine to show it's full potential. The parts listed below are a few common components widely used and easily accessible.

NOTE:Our products are not designed to accept a 3/8 pushrod,5/16 pushrods are more than good enough in 99% of cases,
extra clearancing to suit 3/8 pushrods can be done at your own risk.

we do not reccomend felpro 1013 gaskets with our heads, they have the wrong valve relief pockets in them.
Accessories Standard Cleveland accessary holes in ends of heads for power steering/alternater or A/C

Roller Rockers

NOTE:Some brand rockers may supply BB chev rockers that share the same RR,the RR is made up differently on a true cleveland rocker arm,the BB chev version may over shoot the contact area of the valve and result in a much shorter pushrod on the intake side.

Guide Plates:

NOTE: adjust guide plate position to achieve correct rocker alignment
Depending on brand, cutting and reconnecting may be required as these items may and do vary greatly from brand to brand

Manley

Note; Some guide plates have been having alignment issues. In the case of this happening, cutting the guide plate, aligning it and then re welding back together can be done .we cannot accept resposibility for other companies product fittness.

Cylinder Head Fitting Notes Setting rocker/pushrod length:In some cases BBC rockers are supplied, Cleveland and BBC rockers share the same ratio of 1.73:1,but they are made up differently. BBC chevy rockers have a longer nose length and may over shoot the centre of the valve, this generally shows up on the intake side more commonly than the exhaust due to the complex compounding angles of the intake guide/rocker layout.different length pushrods may be required for intake and exhaust.
Torque settings Follow all normal Cleveland torque setting recommended by the gasket manufacturers.
Intake Manifold Fitment Due to the many different makes and models of intake manifolds available today for the Cleveland/ Boss engines, some manifolds may end up with an increased gap between the base of the manifold and the top of the engine block. The smaller the chamber, the more the manifold gets pushed up the V of the engine, resulting in a larger gap and or a port/bolt hole mismatch.Machining of the intake faces of the manifold or cylinder heads will rectify this issue. In the case of small combustion chambered cylinder heads where material has been removed from the cylinder surface to achieve the smaller chambers, cutting the intake face of the cylinder head instead of the manifold is advise.
