Head Fitting Notes |
Setting rocker/pushrod length:In some cases BBC
rockers are supplied, Cleveland and BBC rockers
share the same ratio of 1.73:1,but they are engineered
differently to achieve the same ratio. BBC chevy
rockers have a longer nose length and may contact
the centre of the valve differently, this generally
shows up on the intake side more commonly than the
exhaust due to the complex compounding angles of
the intake guide/rocker layout.different length
pushrods may be required for intake and exhaust. |
| Torque
settings |
Follow
all normal Cleveland torque setting recommended
by the gasket manufacturers. |
Intake
Manifold Fitment
AFD
Intake manifolds have no gap unde rthe manifold. |
Due
to the many different makes and models of intake
manifolds available today for the Cleveland/ Boss
engines, some manifolds may end up with an increased
gap between the base of the manifold and the top
of the engine block. The smaller the chamber, the
more the manifold gets pushed up the V of the engine,
resulting in a larger gap and or a port/bolt hole
mismatch.Machining of the intake faces of the manifold
or cylinder heads will rectify this issue. In the
case of small combustion chambered cylinder heads
where material has been removed from the cylinder
head surface to achieve the smaller chambers, cutting
the intake face of the cylinder head instead of
the manifold is advise. |
